If like me you are a fan of engines then here is 20 minutes of self indulgence.

It has a great insight into how everything works on arguably the best non M straight 6 engine.

What a find! Nice one

Thank you for sharing, quite enjoyed that.

Hopefully I have "future proofed" mine by changing the rocker cover, eccentric and valve motor gaskets...

I was surprised to see the amount of carbon build up on the valves in that video though. I thought the N53 and other direct injected engines suffered from that!

This is a really cool tear down of the B58 in the Supra/Z4 and the guy goes on to do a full 1000Bhp build, proper interesting some of the advancements in engineering that have been incorporated to the engine are pretty cool

I wonder what a B58 engine swap would be like in a Z4 Coupe?

I always felt like the best engine swap overall would be the S65. It's high revving, low torque which suits a lighter vehicle. Also light, so won't screw up the weight distribution.

A part of me wonders whether I will ever sell the Z4 Coupe, and will just run it until the engine goes and consider a swap...

Interesting question tbh, if money wasnt a hurdle I would legit look into something like that but then again you're right the S65 is a shout although I wouldnt mind a supercharger 8)

I have thought about that myself, the Z4C is the longest I have ever owned a car and I still love it and enjoy it, its comfortable, civilised yet quick enough and a genuinely fun car to drive (although I do wonder what a proper steering rack would feel like!)

I just can't imagine selling it to be honest. There are other cars I'd like (V8 F Type), but I wouldn't want to sell this one to replace it. Having two two-seater cars could be a little silly though, but I think I'd sooner go down that route than sell the Z4 (since I'd likely keep something like an F-Type for 2 years, and then want something like the Z)

Ditto! Been looking at F-Types (although the S V6) myself, having driven one it was thoroughly good fun and they look excellent! I dont really have an issue with a 2 seater as someone who isnt family orientated at all I have no intention of needing more than one other seat

I do foresee that the Z4MCs will rocket in price as they get rarer though 100%
