I am expecting delivery of a similar device for around half the cost if any of you want to wait for a review on it?
Would it be from these people, just found this on the net:

Wonder how good they are?

Think this is a great idea, going to save my pennies to get one, my mum has just been stung by a no fault accident becoming her responsibility because of a surprise witness appearing after the claim was submitted.

Just what happened to my daughter. I have written her a letter to her insurers advising that she's happy to confront them in court, suggesting they also be reminded of the penalty for perjury.

When I read this thread I was wondering how you were getting on with that claim lacroupade.

No its not one of those. Its a new product, but it is made in China (like everything these days!) and I always test things before listing them with my company. I will be testing the unit (but hopefully not crashing! :D ) before posting up my review of it.

After speaking to RoadHawk they would offer us a bluk buy discount based on order 10+ units

the price would be £156 thats for the entry level unit the DC1

I like this one a lot. The driver is fairly "free and frank" with his opinion :)

dont see how he could claim it was the other guys fault there....

50/50 at best...

Is it not a give-way junction? Should the Audi not have waited :?
possibly - but the guy who's video it is was on the wrong side of the road at the time... being rather impatient and overtaking near a junction....

Hence why I said 50/50 at best.

I've been looking at in car recorders for a good while now. I'm incredibly worried about someone crashing in to me and saying it's my fault. I very much doubt I could afford to insure the car with 0 years ncb (have 6)

Stumbled across the best I could recently and put my order in from ebay (from china)

Sample clip, watch in 1080p

Amazingly clear footage.

v1000G (non GPS version)
~£100
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320774404358

v1000GS (with external GPS)
~£120
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-1080-Vehicle-camera-GPS-logger-H-264-HDMI-blackbox-V1000GS-car-cam-video-DVR-/220920316294?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336fe08186

I went for the non GPS as I want it at neat as possible near the rear view mirror.

I'll be making a thread and install instructions when it arrives in a few weeks.

The guy was on wrong side of road as he was coming through temp traffic lights and car in front pulled left to go down junction that car came out from and hit the guy on main route. So blue cars fault :poke:

lights were further up the road :poke:

But the full line of traffic was pulling out for them. They had passed the "when lights is red stop here sign" and were all filtering onto the other side. I just think the guy waiting to come out seen the car pull into his junction and decided to come out and never seen the car with camera at all.

There were traffic lights on the main road. but don't think there were traffice lights in the lane that the Audi came from? Strange :?

the very fact we see things slightly differently is why things like this aren't as clear cut as they appear...

always better to be cautious and wait and be sure it's clear before committing to an overtake
