I have been looking at video camera's to mount in the z but don't want to pay much for the amount of time it will get used.
SO does anyone on here use a cheapish one and if so what results do you get.

I have been looking at something like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Full-HD-1080P-Car-DVR-Vehicle-Dash-IR-Night-Vision-Video-Recorder-Camera-w-HDMI/181145177579?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D3258181000256349172%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D200998282287%26

Or this

Prefer the look of the second one, smaller and more descrete.

Presume they both start recording when the ignition is switched on, bit hard to tell from the description.

Second one is very similar in size to my roadhawk... Personally I'd pay the extra for the build quality.

(If you review the linked video, there's a white E89 at 16 seconds :D)

Make you wonder what's different about them, they have the same case. Probably paying for the name with the roadhawk.

I've got one like the first which has the small LCD screen. Works fine, I bought it as security and it's left on movement detection, mine also has night vision which works but isn't brilliant. I'm not sure it's true HD but still pretty good for the money.

From the advice I received on another forum I've just purchased this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321226920418?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I wanted front and rear view and ability to just pull an SD card out and view on laptop - no downloading or taking the camera out.

Not received yet, but have seen it installed in another car and seen the results of the recordings and very impressive. Will wire it in direct to overhead lights with voltage corrections and if it works well buy a 2nd unit for the Zed.

I've got the first one..been ok up to press..very discrete in fact I forget it's there
