In Car Camera Mounts.

Before everyone screams use the search function I have and the answers were pretty inconclusive, which in truth may not have changed much.
After watching some the videos posted recently it's encouraging me to find our camcorder and blow the dust of it, but rather than giving it to my other half to hold I was trying to find an answer to any camera mounts members may have used. I've had a quick look on ebay and they range from 99p to £200.
I'm not really looking at spending that much if I can avoid for something which in all honesty will probably get used 2 or 3 times and get forgotten about.
The only other option would possibly be a chinese knock off of a bullet cam or something but I have no idea what I'm looking at, and the links in the old posts have expired.

Any help and advice much appreciated.

I'm thinking along similar lines - redzedfour used a delkin fat gecko mount with a 3" riser attached to his dash and that seemed nice and steady (see his buttertubs vid) but wad only holding a lightweight point and shoot camera - retails about £25 so think I may look at one of those when I get back from lm.

That delkin unit looks quite similar to some of the ebay stuff like this one or even this one only problem is you don't get the 3 inch riser but I'm sure that is not insurmountable.

True - and if you buy cheap and it works then good for you - otherwise it's just wasted cash :?

I've not made any decisions yet, I was merely stating that it looks similar to those cheapy ebay ones.
I agree with you and usually don't buy cheap stuff as that is what you get, cheap tat. You really can't tell enough from the photos, much better to go with an actually recommendation and £25 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things.
