Afternoon people,

How’s everyone’s Sunday going?

Decided I didn’t like the tired look of the steering wheel, so I decided to freshen it up a bit!

What do you all think?

A month in to ownership and still smiling :D :driving:

Evening!

Looks like a good job! Wrapped and lacquered?

I’m going to ruin your evening now... the carbon pattern is different between the two Horizontle spokes and the central middle vertical spoke.

Sorry! Lovely M wheel, I want one too! :)

Just wrapped, I also noticed that after I finished wrapping :(

It’s an improvement but not perfect

So in addition to the Wheel wrap, The other day I replaced both Vanos’! :o :o :D
The Zed is a different beast now!!! I also gave the Brakes a clean and paint!

Not sure if it’s just the lighting in the picture but the steering wheel trim looks very shiny

Looks great!

Where did you get it from?
And the gearknob

Wrapped the wheel myself, Gearknob was from RunQiao on Amazon.

Where do get the wheel wrap material from - is it straightforward to do?

I got the wrap from Amazon,

MOTORSPORTANDACCESSORIES
5D CARBON FIBRE VINYL ULTRA HIGH GLOSS 300MM X 1500MM ROLL - BEST QUALITY CARBON FIBER VINYL EFFECT - WRAP BADGES CAR PANELS ETC.

It’s fairly straight forward to do, had a few attempts until I got it right. Biggest tip would be make sure you heat the wrap really well! Keep a hairdryer on it until it feels like it’s melting. It stretches really well round the pieces. Also have a very sharp blade to trim to size.
I watched some YouTube videos about carbon wrapping before which also helped.

If you decide to do it post some pics

It is a high gloss finish carbon fibre, I weren’t sure the Matte finish would look right or stand out

I like how the brakes came up - nice job.

The wheel wrap also looks like a nice refresh, but my OCD would be going off over the different directions - the M badge is a nice touch.... you’ve inspired me to consider doing this to a spare steering wheel I have

Thanks, a fair few coats of paint and a lot of cleaning and prep, I’m happy with the colour.
I’ve had such a reaction to the lower part of the steering wheel I may have to re wrap it
The wheel is an M sport wheel so the badge is genuine
