Impromptu run round Hawick Loop.

Awoke to sunshine so quick run out was on the cards with my mate who has Parkinsons condition.He cannot drive anymore but is always up for a run out in the Z.
Apart from a few roadworks on the way we had a good run past Kielder Dam,Bonchester Bridge and onto the usual cafe in Hawick for lunch.
The road back towards Newcastleton was mainly traffic free and then left back towards Bonchester Bridge,right onto Kielder road,Bellingham,Corbridge and home.144mls of great hood down driving. 20160922_130541.jpg20160922_130602.jpg[

Fine day out :driving:
We've been having some really heavy rain in Perthshire at night but clear warmish days so I'm thinking along similar lines to yourself......weather check on web tonight and look out the window in the morning.....I'm awake by 6am everyday.I'll offer shotgun to Mrs but that'll be doubtful so early on a Sat :wink:
I go down to Newcastleton with work......nice quiet drive and we went via Kielder on our recent weekend in county Durham.....bit busier I thought.
Which cafe is your regular in Hawick?
 
The New Howgate Cafe is the one we use.When we had an organised run a few months ago they put all the tables together for us and were very helpfull as well as serving well priced food.
Its on the right of one way street at end of main shopping street.
 
Great write up Mike,good see David out with you ,he really is a glutton for punishment . That is a brilliant route especially the section from Hawick to Newcastleton. Nice to see the pictures, I really will have to find out how to do it !.Drive safe.
