Importing a UK car to france.

HI everyone, thanks for letting me join the forum. I have just bought a Z4 for my wife and am in the process of importing it into France.

Can anyone advise me on the headlights. Do i need to change them for European ones or can they be adjusted.

The car is a 2004 model 3 Litre SE I believe that the headlight are NOT HID

We where also told by the control centre that the tires where not correct for the wheels. It has had the optional low profile wheels fitted and as far as we can work out has the correct tires for those rims.

Any advice would be welcome.

Hi Jabber, sure here are some pictures of the Headlights.

I will have to get pictures of the rims to you tomorrow If i get a chance but they are Schnitzer Type 4 R19 Low profile Tyres

Unfortunately you will need to replace the headlights for LHD versions. Only Xenon headlights have an internal switch to flatten the beam for driving on the continent, but even that wouldn’t make them legal for registration in a LHD country (assuming requirements are similar to importing LHD car to the UK).

OK then that is what will have to happen i guess.

Is there a section on the forum where i might ask is anyone has a set for sale.

Or even a swap for a set of UK ones and a bit of cash to go with it from me.
