Import Duty

Looks like that model doesn't have the band for some reason!!??

The calibre 17 does...

I still wouldn't trust it though Tim.

Have you looked at Hamilton watches?

same movements, but usually a lot cheaper... ;)

I haven't no but will look out for them, I acquired this Witt Chrono from 1970 last month which uses the same Tag Heure movement from the time,

Thanks Steve, nice Carerra

I'm going to pass on the USA one, will probably go with Swiss Watches Direct although out of interest I may pay Ernest Jones a visit and barter :D

titan, looks like a fake to me as they forgot to put any holes in the strap!!!  gorgeous watch, just be careful there are so many bastards waiting to con you and rip you off, i would want to touch and hold any purchase of that amount before giving away hard earned dosh., maybe ,try one on in england , photofraph it on yr wrist on yr phone , go to the us , buy one , if customs mention it, then you produce a pic of your watch that you already owned in england before your holiday. or just do a tony and cherie freeloader blair and walk through customs nothing to declare and when asked just say you didnt realise you had to pay import duty,....yeah right ! :headbang: :headbang: ... good luck

Thanks Mad, the one in the USA looks lovely but not prepared to take the risk, I may order from Ernest Jones and have it delivered to my local branch however the price difference with Swiss Watches Direct is hard to ignore. The Monaco I bought from them in 2009 was alot cheaper back then, prices are over double that now so I'm feeling a little more jittery buying online

Bought my Calibre 16 at a local Tag dealer and it's great for an everyday watch, wouldn't risk it buying online

For that amount it will be cheaper to take a holiday there and wear it on the way back :)

X2, it's a lot of money to be sending overseas with no guarantee, and there are very good fakes out there for tags and brietlings etc. if it were me, I'd wrap it into a holiday visit
