Imgur blocked in UK

Not sure whether to put this in Forum Discussion or The Lounge, but it looks like any images shared from Imgur will not be available to viewers/users in the UK as Imgur don't seem to want have to comply with the UK's Online Safety Act by collecting everyone's proof of ID/age...so have simply banned UK IPs.

You can get around it with a VPN, but that's probably not an ideal option for every person who wants to view a forum post, so I'd suggest going into your account settings and downloading your images en-masse, and finding another, UK-friendly host.

Thats why I always encourage image uploading to the forum, so they don’t go missing if services go under.

Used to have imageshack and photobucket, but when that got a paywall I never used any anymore

You'll start noticing soon enough when images don't load on historic or overseas threads

I had to set up a Photobucket account when I joined the forum, but it was painful to use. So I was relieved when photos could be uploaded directly onto the forum and have only ever done that since.

You should be able to view those threads as usual through a VPN masquerading as an overseas location

Where do you store all your photographs of tulips? Or is it impossible to capture their ephemeral beauty?

The hosting of pics was only when I needed to show the pics on this forum, the satnav retrofit etc. Since it was no longer necessary, I don’t host them anywhere and just have them on both my one drive and iCloud for backup purposes.

My tulip pictures are safe
