Im the only American, aren't I?

There's chocolate in Belgium? I thought my wife ate and bought it all while we were there.

To be honest. In our time in Europe. We really haven't been to a bad place. Everyone has been wonderful. And we have only dealt with one rude person in 2 1/2 years. A Frenchman working as a waiter at a cafe right in front of Mozart's birth home in Salzburg. Silly Little man. He should know that Americans are big tippers when they get great service. He got zilch. :lol:

In most cases there is so much traffic on the Blue Ridge Parkway you can't even drive the speed limit. Much better to drive West over into the mountains of West Virginia where the roads are excellent, very little traffic and little or no enforcement... :driving:

Good info WLH, I will try that in the spring/summer time. Don't want to go around this time of the year, (mountains/snow/ice).
 
My son goes to school at NYU ...
My Dad grew up in Lynbrook Long Island ...
Does that count ?

Westvleteren brew was on the news today as being on sale for the first time in the US. $85 for a sixpack!

But it's great beer! Worth every penny :-) But I believe it's stronger beer, not like a simple pint

Other popular brands: Duvel, Leffe, La Chouffe... and like pints: stella artois, maes...
In total we have a 1.500 different kinds of beer...

Had a few bottles of Duval on the train going to the Grasspop festival in Belgium last year ,had big trouble walking afterwards :icb: :dizzy:

I'm not much of a beer drinker, except for stronger beers, as they taste much better. I'm more of a wine drinker or champagne or... damn, i'm thirsty

Sure does! I grew up in Brookville, long island and I live in NYC and have some friends that go to NYU.

When the wife and I moved into our house in Germany. The American owner returned to the USA and left most everything behind including a fully stocked bar room that had a bottle of single malt scotch whiskey in residence. I'd never tasted that before. Now. If I have an after dinner sip. That's what I reach for. Even went to the Talisker distillery on Skye last year while on holiday in Scotland. The aroma was just heavenly.

The Belgian beers are great though. As are the Belgian people.

Well my brother is an American living in Saratoga Cali and my nieces and nephews are Americans ..so does that count too?
