Just got some rest eatin spray... sprayed it on just now and gonna have a crack at it after work. Fingers crossed!
dont try any heat after spraying the valve caps with your rust eating spray as you may then need the assistance of the fire brigade  :o

Looking at his spelling I think he has been sniffing the stuff ... :D

sp3ctre - did you change the OE caps?

IDK if it's the case with you or not,
but there was/is a compatibility issue with some caps on the TPMS stems.

Why do you guys like to get yourselves into sticky situations?

I am not worried. Sp3ctre has his head solidly screwed on :D

I didn't... I got the tyres changed at ATS and it came back with plastic caps... I went in and asked for the originals and they said they dont have them but I can have these ones.... wish I'd stuck with the plastic ones now :S

You need to drive up to Liverpool!

They'll have the rusted valve caps off in seconds...

And your wheels...........

and your seats..............

and your stereo!

Ill get my coat!

Yep, still stickied! Would have been on top till You ^^^ responded to the the Parts Catalog thread :P

Now fixed :D

LOL, you guys are funny!

Well, it' all fixed now... as some of you may know I'm in South Africa at the moment but I got a text from my Dad saying all fixed... (actually the text was from Mum, saying "Dad's got your hub caps off!", but I know what she meant... I hope!!).

I don't know how he did it, not sure I dare ask, but I will update this thread when I return home!

Next question then... what do I replace them with? The BMW ones were really good and looked nice, but I can't find them for sale anywhere.

So... do I...

a) replace them with plastic ones.... no worries about rust

b) buy some OEM ones from BMW, presumably paying a premium for them.

c) buy some ones off ebay... but how do know which ones will not rust?

So... any help would be appreciated, and for the love of God Ovrkll, un-sticky this thread!!!
