The woman could be only a certain percent disabled.

My sister was almost killed in a serious trailer accident many years ago, and as a result was 30% disabled. She lives & works normally, even though among other injuries she lacks some ligaments and her knee can be moved forward & backwards without restriction. It's pretty weird to watch. I'm pretty sure she gets financial support from the goverment to compensate for the lesser work ability even though she does work, as she works less hours to avoid overloading the injured parts.

That is really fair enough I suppose, each case has its own merits. Im just going by the $2500 a month tho, seems outrageous amount of money to give someone who is obviously not v.disabled at all if she can walk around, use a car etc

...geez, her entire retirement account was 30 thousand dollars???...frightening!!....

$2500/month and she's going for a $100,000 car???? What a dumbas$$.

First rule, DON'T FALL IN LOVE WITH THE CAR. I knew I wanted a Z4 coupe. I knew when the dealer incentives would start. I worked the dealer for almost a month, but I was willing to walk away. Sure, I considered an M coupe, could have afforded it, but this was to be a daily driver and I knew when years/mileage ran out on the warranty, I would have to pony up for maintenance. Anyone who doesn't consider all this before buying a car, BMW or not is a DUMBA$$. Period. Those sales people are out to make sales, they're not out to be your friend, your financial planner or your mother. If that guy DID falsify that report, he should be criminally charged. That's a no-no. Selling you a car you can't afford isn't, especially if you sign the papers without reading *everything* is not. Heck, I'd hate to see what her balloon payment would have been.

I think these are the key points...

"That's because the monthly lease payment was $1,300. It ate up half her income which was a $2,500 disability check. "

"How did the deal even happen? Apparently, her income was inflated by nearly 150%."

"She was caught up in the excitement and said she told the salesperson about her $2,500-a month income. But, what ended up on the credit application was the amount she could be making if she was not on disability. "He (the salesperson) put what he thought I needed to get qualified for the car," according to Vivian. She admitted she signed the lease with an inflated income at $6000 a month."
