I'm new... Hi. Has anybody tried a Fuel Gas Saver?

Hello all,

I'm a complete noob :? , both with this forum and with the BMW Z4. I just bought mine yesterday, an '05 plate 2.0l SE with the 5 spoke alloys, took ages to find the blue but I really love the car. Found lots of great info on this site. I was searching ebay for some parts and accessories (for aftermarket iPod connection) and came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FUEL-GAS-SAVE...arParts_SM&hash=item5185b8db23#ht_12817wt_882

Has anyone tried anything like this?

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have loads of questions as I get to know the car (red dragon  - as he comes from Wales) a little better

Welcome to the Forum - as with all these so called fuel saving devices if they worked the inventor would be a multi millionaire and not selling the device on E Bay and certainly they would be a part of every vehicle by now. Looking at it it's just a magnet in a plastic box strapped to your fuel line. Don't waste you money! Enjoy the new Zed.

I'm selling some items too, if you're interested:
  • Snake oil
  • 100 acre plots of the moon
  • Nitrogen-rich air for your tyres
  • DIY 10-30bhp dial-controlled power controller
  • Essex virgin (female)

(sorry, that last one is fake)

Have you actually read into the science of it?
A quick Google search...

Ok, point taken. Should've seen that coming really. Just thought it was interesting but hey, what do I know, I only work in the industry *hangs head in shame* (no smiley for that!)

Do you still have the DIY power controllers and nitorgen-air? PM sent.

Oh and welcome Chris :)

And quote......

'In summary, I found no test data that support the claims for improved engine performance made by vendors of magnetic fuel treatment devices. Until such data become available, considerable skepticism is justified. At present, it seems quite unlikely that any of the claimed benefits of magnetic fuel treatment are real.'

That'll do for me :driving:

Yup, it is a favourite of mine to go to some locally owned newsagent or something and give it a go, they look at you like you just landed from Mars.
Once did it kinda knowing the reception it would get but also had an Irish note on me, she took that with out any issue whatsoever :?

She must be a bit of a swamp donkey. Infact she probably needs a hoist to get out of bed in the morning.!

do you still have the essex virgin? does she come with a white XR3 Cab?

Hi all,

I will post pics soon. I want to get the body work re-done. There's a few scratches and chips that I wanna get sorted out before I post them. My bodywork guy's on holiday for 3 weeks  so will have to wait.

I also want to change the wheels, there's nothing wrong with the ones I have but I wanted multispoke like the 18" MSport (or the alloys on easty027's pic above, they look sweet). Any recommendations?

Sorry, as I said in my original post, the 'Essex virgin' was fake.
