Left at 1:30 pm on Monday and arrived at home this morning [Tues.]at 6:30 - 17 hours of straight driving. I have a whole slew of things to do before I punish those who are in need, and post a couple pics - ovrkll; you are not immune from certain future scoldings!
Just wanted y'all to know I got home safe and sound - look like a racoon, but here none the less..be back later.
Missed everyone!

17 hours straight? ....must be nice to be young and so full of P&V :o ....
Call me an old fart... but I don't think I could do that anymore.

Well, considering how I've been beat up lately about my AGE, I'll take that as a compliment :D .
But seriously, I've always loved driving..always will, I think my record is 38 hours straight or something :scratchhead: ..I should be sleeping now

I know what you mean... my favourite place is behind the wheel.
LOL... you're too wired to sleep.

I can only manage 10-12 hours in North America. I get bored with the speed limit.... 17 hours! Damn you are good :D

We set that up purposely for peeps like you. :)

FNI....nice to see you are back.

Yeah that's alot of driving. I love driving alot, but I can't imagine doing that. Glad to see your back safe.

Thank goodness for rest stops... if I can take advantage of a few 15 minute power naps, I'm good to go for a long time. :) I dunno if I can last any longer than 10 hours straight otherwise.

I don't do power naps on long trips, although that is what you should do. If I stop at a rest area, I wind up being suspicious of everybody and just watching them anyway- no rest there!

Good to have you back, Tina.

Can't wait to see the pics of the foilage....

Also, love the thread title, but "TOO MUCH INFORMATION" thanks all the same :P

17 hrs straight driving in the Z4? i love my Z4, but i dunno if i would want to do 17 hrs of straight driving in it. u go by yourself? no one to share the driving? arms and shoulders must be tired!!! well then again, you are a medic so i'm sure u have the rite ppl around you to treat for any over use of muscles

You know E85, I've heard a lot of complaints about the Z being uncomfortable for long rides but I have to say, I loved every single minute of it. But I love to drive, a LOT. The only thing that bothered me was during major traffic jams and accidents, working the clutch got hard on my left knee particularly. I had a meniscus tear a few months ago from running, plus several other knee injuries on both my knees from riding horses for many years.
I was concerned about my back because so many folks complain about the stock seats not being supportive enough in the lumbar region. But the small of my back never became tired, or hurt. I'd drive from here to California if I could!
And yes, I drove alone..usually do, my passenger side airbag stay disengaged, I never have passengers. And ibuprofen is a beautiful thing
