I’m creeping back!

Hello all,

I see there are still some of the old gang still kicking around. Those who recall me know that I sold the E89 and bought a F82 M4….I sold that during the pandemic and bought myself an i8. Love it, its been great but its also becoming a bit of a money pit. Been looking at the G28 for a wee while and I’m currently looking at getting back into a M40i.

So hello to everyone new and old

Thank you Ron, hope you’re still loving that 35is.

Hey John! Nice to see you are still around and in a G29 now. M40i?

Welcome back!
I see you are the shy and retiring type. Just like me too!

It is the only way to be. Should really update my signature as I don’t have anything on that list anymore

Welcome back indeed. You will be pleased to hear that after a short absence of a Z I have another one (ok, the gap was 8 years) :D

 Seems to be a thing, always come back to them eventually. Notice you’ve got a ID.3 - how are you finding it? My Mum just got one and I’m not sure if its been with her or the garage more :o

I got the Tour Pro S model, obsolete before it was even delivered after two years order wait list. It has all the extras and is the 4 seater model as it has the extended battery.

So far so good, only done 500 miles in it but drives very well and no problems at all. It is getting the ppf treatment this week.

What problems does your mum have with hers?

Oh welcome back Angie, thank goodness, it’s about time I had some backup against this lot of rapscallions and reprobates. The M40i is pretty damn fine and I love mine

Glad to hear it’s all gone smoothly. She’s had issues with the rear lights, they were replaced a week after she got it. Last week the alarm kept going off, turns out the 12v battery was dead, weirdly! So that’s been replaced. The rear wiper packed in…after 3 days they decided to try replacing the motor and it worked.

Then they booked her in for an update…..6th December for a week is what they’ve given her. I thought that was a joke but sadly no.

So glad to see you are still around and you’ve upgraded, big time! Not that was there was anything wrong with the previous E85 but that is a lovely looking thing.

 Glad to be back. Some things never change. I had been toying with the idea all day but I’ve actually decided it is the best option to just move on and get back into a Z4. Love reading all the threads on the G29 already.

I would have bought a 20i cause my local dealer has the Thundernight in stock in the showroom but the lad who emailed me clearly doesn’t want the business.

Hello from another Scottish G29 owner.

Mine came from Edinburgh. Out of interest which dealer, we got a fantastic service from Eastern at Newbridge

Hello!

Eastern is my dealer of choice and has been since I was 17 years old when I purchased my first car from them 21 years ago this month. Unfortunately they offered low on my i8 without valid reason, pushed to know what 5 other dealerships had offered as they ‘really wanted to look after me’ but I’ve heard not a peep since Thursday morning.

To be honest my experience of Eastern as both a BMW and Mini customer over the past 4 months has been woeful. They are usually outstanding but their service has been substandard. I’ve had bookings cancelled without my knowledge including my MOT by a disgruntled warranty guy, who seemed to stick his nose into some work I was paying to have done.

I’ve been left waiting an hour to pick my car up after agreeing a time to collect and being there 5 mins before. The latest issues have been washing the car when I’ve asked not to, the i8 had some sort of film on it which took over 2 hours to remove (I’m still waiting on their explanation) and the Mini only last week, the door hadn’t closed properly and someone soaked the inside. Something that would have been avoided if they had just followed my instruction.

Will I be back? At this moment I can’t say I will, maybe not with the Z4. Only time will tell.
