I'm considering to buy Z4 Coupe...

Hello,

Well, since 2007 I've been dreaming about this car and finally I have a chance to buy this beauty. Before considering to buy BMW I wanted to discuss about some issues. I have read that Z4 has a common problem with a steering wheel (smth with electric power system?) and that's an expensive thing to repair. My current variant has gone about 150 000 km so it's a risk that something will break in a near future... btw I am willing to drive this car all season :) Any advices before buying a coupe (with only manual gear box) :)? Thanks

P.S.
sorry for my poor English

Welcome......
Best advice re. Coupe is to get a proper Z4, a Roadster :fuelfire:

I wasn't put off by the steering issues.....but as I'm a roadster fan I was of course more concerned about the failing roof motors and non-draining drains :( - a clear advantage to Coupe ownership. Plus you dont have the same issues with bird poo either.

Better English than many UK posters exarque!!

Sounds like you mean the electric power steering problem? This does only seem to happen in very hot climates after the car has been left standing, and I'm not sure if or how the coupe is affected compared to the roadster......our US friends can probably tell you more than us in the UK....good luck with your purchase though!

Hi and welcome - a checklist link for used car purchase in my signature. Take your time and you will find the right one.

Thought the issues were with pre facelift on the steering? I had issues with my old roadster but nothing with the coupe?
