Hey guys not technically a newbie as I have previously been on here when I had a 3.0 roaster then MC but for some stupid reason I had a psychological breakdown and thought through some madness it would be a good idea to buy a brand new astra vxr... Bigggg mistake but Iv since see the error of my ways and am now picking up a silver 3.0 coupe Thursday :) loved my M and miss it dearly but need to save for a mortgage so couldn't quite justify all those extra costs but glad to be back :D

Quite a journey - let us know how you find your new Zed with photos when you get it.

Tell us about the VXR. . . .

All the best and welcome!

:driving:

Welcome back and good to hear you've recovered from your recent bout of car-choice mental illness.

The vxr is a nice car there's no doubt about it and for vauxhall the finish inside is very nice, it isn't too hard of a ride even with 20" wheels and if you want a hot hatch I think it is a far superior car than it's Renault or ford equivalent butttttt it just hasn't got that lovely German feel, it has a terrible turning circle and I mean awful! It's heavy of which in the corners and around small country roads is very noticeable, being front wheel drive unless it's bone dry it spins way to easily I'm talking you pull out from a junction at normal speed when there's a tiny bit of morning moisture and the thing spins up resulting in tyres baring lasting 8,000 miles with normal driving!? It also tends to get tail happy rather unexpectedly yet torque steers badly when wet, it's actually barely any better on fuel than my M!? And at the end of the day it's still only a vauxhall, and really lacks that special feel that I got with my past two z4s but hey ho we all make mistakes and learn from them :p now to source a nice pair of csl wheels and decide on an exhaust set up! Oh and find some sport seats as unfortunately the model I'm getting is only the se :(
