Well, I left the fold a while back after selling a gorgeous 3.0 in black. Shown here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16225

In the interim I've had an RX8 and recently learnt to ride a motorbike and bought a K7 GSXR 600. (LOVE IT!!!)

Anyway, I missed the Z4 so have been and bought another 3.0i se in sapphire black, on elipsoids, with sport seats, satnav, cruise control, ipod, folding mirrors etc etc, so fully loaded interior. The outside needs some TLC to get it looking as good as my last one, not sure whether to refurb the elipsoids as they have some bubbling and kerb damage, or go back for BBS LMs again, or Alpina alloys... :driving:

Anyway, I'm going to do my best to get it up to scratch tomorrow, interior, exterior, roof etc but know it will greatly benefit from a professional DA polishing with some attention to the paintwork. How much should I be looking at for a decent full body DA polishing? Not ££££ finish, just nice and shiny and swirl marks / light scratches removed.

Pics to follow tomorrow if I can get it in respectable shape. The engine bay has not seen a clean in years

New car to do list:
1. Remove foam from sound generator (All of it! ) DONE
2. Check DISA
3. Refurb alloys (Keep silver or go different?) Doing next week, full acid bath refurb,
4. Clean / paint calipers (Look so rusty!!!)
5. Replace rear discs and pads. Brembo discs and pads waiting to fit.
6. Stubby. Fitted.
7. All red rear lights. Vinyl tint samples too small, bit look like they'd work. Larger price bought.
8. Black grills. Waiting for new bumper for full transformation.
9. M front bumper. Possibly fitting facelift bumper instead.
10. Powerflex bushes. Will enquire when getting discs fitted.
11. LED number plate lights. Fitted.
12. LED sidelights. Fitted
13. Retrim boot with new black carpet as previous owner spilled white paint. :headbang:
14. White side repeaters and new badges. Bought, ready to fit.
15. Quad exhaust. Dreaming a little bit here.
16. Soundproof doors, drivers door sound horrible when closing!

Its good to be back.

Welcome back! I'm new on here but to get paintwork back to a high quality finish then a rotary polish is the only way!

Depending on the level of paint correction I would expect to pay £150-250.

See your in Yorkshire, these have been recommended:-

Oh and :worthless:

I'll grab some before and hopefully after pics tomorrow. Like I said, its in need of some serious cleaning :o I'm not a detailing guru by any means, but I see everything and it bugs me... :headbang:

T2FFN, always good to see a member return after a non-Z4 stint. :)

I say go with the Alpinas for your new wheels! They look brilliant!

Welcome back to the fold. Agree with the Alpina option too. On a black Zed they'll look amazing. Pics up dirty or otherwise asap

Small update to the modding list, only the little things as I haven't had time to do much else.

I gave it a good clean last monday but as I was polishing I lost the daylight, so was working 'blind'. Daylight of tuesday showed I'd missed some patches of polish  Still, looked 100x better than it did.

Someone say Alpina wheels on black looks kinda good? Yep - too right!

There was a full Roadster S set on ebay last week, and recently a set of 3 (plus one damages unrepairable)......they are out there.

There are also these replicas, which I believe are from a reputable suppier:-
