I’m back in my Zed

As some of you may know, I’ve been trying to find my old Z4 Coupe 3.0Si in Phoenix Yellow, especially as it’s been off the road for three years. I owned it 2008-2009 and then sold it when I had to buy a house and always regretted it. It’s been discussed in a few classified posts.
Well, last summer I discovered its location and through a mutual party, I tried to buy it, without success. Last Tuesday I thought ‘balls to it’ and drove the 1hr 30min to where it was laid up, and knocked on the door.
6 days later and it’s now on my driveway, looking a bit sorry for itself, but it’s all there. It also with the help of Thunderbird 1 started first time!
2006, autumn registered.
81k, I’m the 3rd (BMW 1st and then a private owner 2nd) and 6th owner.
Bi-colour heated seat, still working but minging.
Bi-colour dash.
Sat Nav
Multi-changer as well as CD head unit.
It had the book thrown at it from new.
Others have said it’s an utter one off car, I can’t vouch for that, all I know is that I’ve wanted it back for years and now it’s finally mine again!
Let the restoration begin.

Well done. 10/10 for perseverance.
When I read your original thread trying to find it, I didn't think you would TBH.

Here's hoping you can get it back to where you want it without too many headaches, or wallet-aches! :D

Just think how good you are going to feel once you’ve got it sorted out. Looking forward to seeing how the restoration process goes.

Great news, it must be like getting one of your old favourite girlfriends back! All be it a bit older.
You’ll be spending the next few months getting to know her again.😀

Awesome 11 out of 10 for effort.

Whether you are completely mad is yet to be determined. hope it goes well. :)

Well done for getting it back, it should never have been allowed to get in that state.

Good luck with the resto

YESSSSS!! So pleased for you mate- I remember how gutted you were when you sold it! That’s such a great ending to the story- looking forward to the restoration now!

That's fantastic news Monster Z4 - congratulations.

Here's a link to the database a forum member compiled:- http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/index30si.html

Based on that there was only one manual Phoenix Yellow Coupe registered in the UK with that interior combination, heated seats, CD changer and rear PDC - and it looks like it also had Bi-Xenons too!

You did really well to track it down, and better still to buy it back.

I sold a 3 year old Capri 2.8i to buy my first house and missed it so much a few years later I bought another one, so I can fully understand why you were so keen to get it back!

Mr Tidy you seem to know everything about every Z4 in pheonix yellow 😁 I am still thinking about buying the one my friend has for sale 👍

Is that the one you posted pictures of? Those wheels were stunning?
