Haven't done these myself,
But would they not splice into the footwell lights?

I thought this but it looks a bit more complicated than that i think :x

Why? I spliced straight into those for all my extra door LEDs and its a breeze

I'd certainly track down the OEM method of fitting first though before making up my own.

I see them on Ebay very often, they run for $400.

Here is the instruction.

Did them this weekend, ended up splicing them into the footwell lights all worked fine and they are good, but it does have to be fairly dark to see the illumination.

Probably a compromise that if they are bright enough to see in daylight they woudl blind you if you opened a door in a dark place. Mine seem just fine and it's nioce to see them at night as a glow rather than a bright light

That said I would have thought that you could switch in brighter or more LED's if you wanted them brighter.

I purchased 20 bright white LED's off Ebay for my door project for about £2 plus P&P each equiped with tail wires to connect to.

I've got them fitted, easy to do and used the footwell lights as the power supply rather than the full wiring loom supplied. 30 min job either side. Colour cannot be changed - barely visible in daylight but great fun at night with a pleasing glow.

Unfortunately I don't have footwell lights, I just need to know how to get the cable to the interior of the car? And I feel like I am going to break the plastic door sill piece, the one on the interior of the car? I know you have to remove it to get to the kick panel... Any help?
