Illuminated door sills

Quick question for you all -

I like the illuminated door sills (some say a tad chavy/boy racer but I like them none-the-less!) but I can only find the official BMW units and one other manufacturer and they both sell them in excess of £300.

Does anyone know anyone who makes them cheaper and where I can get them? I don't mind spending my money but there's not much to them and £300 seems a little pricey.

Try www.bmminiparts.com

If there still there you owe me a drink with the huge saving you will make.

1 only in stock, LHD and slightly damaged :(

I'm sure given time out of production this will be dealer only or lucky breakers find.

Make your own?

Some regular sills to practice on, some leds, some experimenting?

Just having one side and that being damaged is not the way I want to go !

I know it's a BMW (parts prices and all that) but other retro fit manufacturers make illuminated sills for other types of cars and lots of them retail for under £100.

Would have thought there would be someone who made these for a Z4 for a similar price but it seems not. There is a firm in the states called Wind deflectors but again, they sell them for the Z4 for over £300.

Nice idea making my own T2FFN and whilst I'm handy with a dremmel and know about electronics/electrics, I expect my results wouldn't look quite as good as I'd want them !

I guess I'm either forking out £300 or I'll do without.

For sure worth a call to see exactly what they have.

My guess would be the wiring loom being different on a LHD to RHD.

I think you will find they are offering both sides for that price.

Ask for some better pics, the damage might be minimal.

Has to be worth a call.

I agree it should be both as that's what the photo is of and text says. When I said '1' one in my first post I meant 'set' and it being LHD and damaged.
