Ignition Switch

I recently purchased 2007 si. The ignition switch seems very stiff to me. In other words. it takes more effort to turn than I am used to in any other car. is this normal? Everything works fine, but it just doesn't seem "right". Mark
 
I realize there is a steering lock. I thought the lock was causing drag, but even when I twist the wheel back and forth the ignition switch seem stiff. Guess I'm asking if anyone else finds their ignition stiffer than in other cars. Mark
 
I have just purchased a 2004 2.5i with 88500 miles on the clock. i also find the ignition switch very hard to turn. Any thoughts?

Can I lubricate it? I was thinking a squirt of WD40.

You would be better off using some graphite powder to lubricate the lock, WD40 inside will attract dust and clog the tumblers in there over time.
