Ignition switch on warning light.

I’ve only just noticed this and I’m not sure if it’s the case on others.

When I turn the ignition on without pressing the brake I get a warning light on the Nav and a big yellow exclamation on the dash (with error chimes) saying ‘ignition switch on!’
Is that normal and I haven’t noticed it before or have I got a problem?
Car starts fine.

Never seen this on mine :? What year and model do you have? I presume it's an auto/dct then? I'll have to try mine next time I get it out, I'm not sure whether I just automatically put my foot on the brake or not, I don't think I do

Is your drivers door open? I get that warning if the door is open at the same time.

Normal.

It’s like activating position 2 with a good old fashioned key.

Thanks everyone for replying. Doesn’t seem to happen anymore. Think the car was just having a moment.
