Ignition problem

So I was hanging out there today when all the sudden a bunch of copper wire started unspooling from the ignition assembly when I parked my car. It looks like somebody had this issue befor. Does anyone know what this copper wire does and if I may cause an ignition issue?


No crank, Does not kick start, battery is fine.


Perks if anyone knows how to bypass it so I don’t have to get a tow.

Oh and to add yes the plug that goes into the ignition was put back in

At a guess, I'd say it is the aerial for the keyfob transponder.
I'd try simply coiling it up so that it sits close to the key. That might allow you to start the car.

I think your spot on, I haven’t owned a car this new so I was unaware of this system. I tried coiling it up and contacting the leads but it did not work sadly. I’m going to try a soldered connection today. If that doesn’t work I would wager that the signal requires some amount of turns to get the proper induction. I have yet to see any information on how to replace or bypass this system.

It's the induction coil (or use to be) that charges the the key fob battery.
