Hi Dawn

It seems to be fairly common

Not a big problem just a change of coil pack/s. After a succession of misfires on a cylinder the management light will come on, i advise not driving too far as unburnt fuel is not good for the CAT.

As i've said before, own a TT and you'll carry a set in the glove box!

had this too- car really doesnt sound healthy when it does it- get all them replaced if they are the old (all black) ones!

Looks like you were right, another one has gone! that's it all of them get replaced now LOL.... any idea if BMW are aware of this and are replacing them for their customers? LOL..slim chance Iguess.

I had all mine done by roadside assist- they really need doing as the orginals were crap!!! ullonly end up with 6 trips tothe dealers\stealers!

Well, I've bought new ones and they are being fitted as I type LOL...hope that's it with them LOL.... what a pain its not like it gives you any warning or anything...

It seems like if you have the poorer quality parts it is a matter of time before they fail. Not exactly cheap to get them fixed but piece of mind once it is done.

Apart from this and the rear spring issues, there does not seem to be many issues with the Z4. (Touching wood while I typed that)
