I really like Targa Porsches. They might not be thorough breads but a nice compromise, some people want the sun and the look of a coupe good compromise. Plus I love the glass roof, but do prefer the coupes but if I found a good one it would be a hard choice.
Does he like classics?

If his bargaining skills are up to it try for an early (possible slightly up on miles) GT3.
TVRs seem to be keeping their money well. I'd suggest an older Ferrari but what money saved in depreciation would be lost in servicing.
Current shape XKRs are exceptional value... although they are, like all modern Jags, depreciation machines!

He doesn't want a car that will drop in value like a stone but something that will still be decent money in the future, we've obviously spoke about an ///M and also 993 Targa, 996 Turbo, SL55 AMG, 328 GTS, I'm struggling to find anything better value than a low mileage ///M though, half the money he has to spend, any ideas??
