If you had to, and had £30K to spend, what would you chose?

Maserati GranTurismo, but I'd have to use a few Sainsbury's vouchers to make up the difference.

Someone on PH has just sold their E61 M5 and bought a C63 AMG with the Performance Pack (487bhp) for £35k with very low mileage. Your £30k budget would easily stretch to one of those....

I saw that too & I love the C63 mainly for the sound of that awesome 6.2 V8, but the swap didn't go down to well with the Beemer diehards & I thought people were being a little harsh on him with his swap & anyway they are both autos so that's not the way forward obviously! :poke: :)
 
My brother has the slk as does a friend. Apart from the side profile I think they look so much better than the previous SLKs which can only be a good thing. As in the pic AMG trim makes such a difference. My brother's has such a good road presence when I've followed him whilst the interior is stunning. I didn't find the drive anywhere close to the E85 but having driven S class mercs and the likes I can only imagine the 2 cars you are comparing are like cheese and chalk in every single way!! Personally SLK all the way if you don't need the seats. Boot space in the SLK is good until you fold the roof into it!

I'd beg borrow or steal another £5k and buy a 1M. Proper drivers cars, only 500 of them, holding their value like nothing on earth and i dare say they will continue to do so.

My mate and I played a similar game last week. He has £35k to spend on a car that he will keep for the next 6 months until his new car is delivered. We figured this would be the best all rounder and least likely to lose any money.

Wow, when you start looking there really is some metal for the money...............Bentley, Ferrari,M6,AMG Merc, Shelby Mustang.........running costs will be terrifying though
