if you had a spare cleaning day...

and buckets, wash mitts, shampoo, poor boys black hole, autoglym srp, autoglym sealer wax (or something like that), a clay bar, some detailing spray, autosol and plenty of microfibre rags and old t shirts...

what would be a decent procedure to do a decent clean up in say 6-7 hours? I like plenty of tea breaks so won't be running round too energetically...

also, is there anything that would benefit the process in addition to the above list, short of a polishing machine...or someone else to do it for me.

thanks

Wash (2bucket method)
Clay
Wash
Blackhole
Wax

I would then spend additional time giving the arches, and wheels a thorough clean and seal. Also treat the tyres, plastics and rubber seals. I use Megs tyre shine and AG vynil and rubber care..mostly because they were easily available.
Experience has taught me that the more clean and shiny you make the paintwork, the more it shows up any untreated details :headbang:

Get some detailing brushes, places like inside the petrol cap, door shuts, boot shut and along the door seals is so much easier with a good set of brushes. I'd also get some Dr Leather for interior, amazing how grubby leather can get without you realising.

6-7 hours forget interior or engine bay if you want to take it easy

Wash 2 bucket
Clay
Polish Blackhole/SRP think they are similar product= swirl fillers
Wax
Clean exhaust and backbox with Autosol

Keep those old Ts away from the bodywork

I had a spare cleaning day last Sunday. Unfortunately SWMBO pointed out that the Zed had been properly cleaned twice since the last time the Land Rover was done. (It was actually three times but usually best not to argue.)

Now have a clean and sparkly Discovery, but it's like polishing a building. I'm sure it has three times the metal of the Zed. My arms have only just recovered.
