I would like to do mechanical engineering

Can't imagine anyone doing mechanical engineering for fun, but good for you Tom

For me an MA in Automotive Design

Nor can I, it's what I have qualifications in but no longer do. I still work for a precision engineering company though.

For me it would be photography or architecture I think.

I was destined to be an architect but strayed and set up my own manufacturing business. I often wonder what I would be up to if I hadn't gone it alone.

Chemical - a bit of a stretch

Chemical Engineering  I gave up Chemistry at school because we had to learn the periodic table, but I loved math, physics and technical drawing so Mechanical Engineering it was.

But automotive design would be a great hobby

+1  - to be honest never pursued it too hard when I was in sixth form I'd read that the competition for places was tough .

Astronomy is a hobby of mine. Would be fun to delve a little deeper into consumer level astrophysics.

Same here, I did mech eng and ended up with a PhD in it. TBH it didn't feel like a load of fun the time, but now I'm retired I look back on my career with a lot of pride and satisfaction.

Criminal Law, Mechanical / Structural Engineering, Spanish (so I can run a drug cartel in South America), Archaeology, Marine Biology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, To Fly ('plane and chopper)... I'm sure there must be other things I can study to fill the afternoon as well

Always loved languages and have dabbled with French and Spanish evening classes in the past. Learnt German in Zurich full time a long time ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Made me wonder whether I would have been quite suited to a languages degree.

Oh and Astrology (don't laugh)

I think i would take the Kevin McCloud course of being a multilingual buildings guru and presenter course. Is there one going?? :? :D

Ruby, I studied astrology years ago and went quite far with it. I enjoyed it at the time but after studying it extensively I came to the conclusion is was mostly tosh. (sorry)
While we can be affected by the moon etc the way the planets are at any given time or how they will be in the future I now believe can't affect our lives to the extent astrology will have you think.
Just my opinion.

I too don't believe in Astrology, but this is about what you would like to study, it doesn't have to be a science.

After being at uni for many years studying 3 science based degrees I'd quite like to study something naff. I do often think that horoscope personality descriptions can be quite accurate.
