Wow - that is stunning. I love the simplicity of the engine bay.

I don't have enough bedrooms for the girls though, so I'm out :(

That takes me back a bit. C20LET, was that the old red top 16v engine?

Seen that before the odd time but it's a pretty amazing Manta, perfect colour too

got to love recession white. Would probably give the ///M a run for it's money to.

Yeah I bet it would with 330 ponies :)

No expert but it's either a Calibra or Cavalier turbo engine, I had a Manta in 1996 and Courtenay would transplant a complete engine in for £5k but I couldn't afford it.

Yum, Mantas were the wall-porn of my youth

HOWEVER, saw a full-on rally-prepped one at a local classic car meet last month and I realised rosy coloured specs are wonderful things. Wish I hadn't seen it now...looked horrifically dated :o

A fine example of a car I always fancied owning. Very well maintained by the looks.

My brother has a Manta, a red one and they're not for me, sorry. (He loves his)

Too 'squared off' for my taste. I like rounded edges on a car.

I can see the beauty in the work and love that has gone into this car, just not my cuppa tea. The trouble with old cars is that they don't have the modern dynamic ability, so for that kind of cash if I wanted a weekend classic I would get a Z4MR :D

I think my dream garage would have the best of both worlds - a Nissan GTR for 'playstation motoring' where the computers keep you on track, and then an F40 for all out crazy engine combined with no driver aids for that shear adrenaline rush every time you turn the key.

You used to see them all the time... can't remember the last time I saw one on the roads. Sad really. Most of them rusted from the ground up, like most 70s & 80s cars.

On the same subject, you can still see loads of early E34s & E30 BMWs kicking around. When was the last time you saw an Escort or a Sierra?
