chrome or firefox are better.

if you have to use IE, always run the latest version

I switched to chrome when IE started crashing all the time.

Never looked back. So much quicker and easier to use. IE8 still crashes every time I open it

IE9 has had good reviews under testing, Microsoft finally catching up on the Browser front, but it is still full of annoying "helpful features". I'm using Firefox as I'm not 100% trusting of Chrome not reporting every site I visit, what I type etc back to the mothership. I've installed filters and add-ons for that now though, just happy with Firefox look and feel.

It's the 3rd party API / plugins that do the damage to IE

IE9 is much better than previous versions, but it's still Chrome or Firefox for me.

IE9 has this annoying tendency to stop responding, and hogs too many resources to make it practical with the amount of sites I need running at the same time.
