iDrive - iPhone and SMS

Afternoon all...

I'm having a Z4 delivered next week, with Pro Sat Nav. Does this mean it comes with iDrive? What is iDrive exactly? Will it be compatible with an iPhone 4 (the car is 1 year old) and will it be able to display incoming text/sms messages on the navigation screen?

2. it's the way you control the nav, cd, radio, tel menus via a dial etc.

4. no (i haven't found a way yet), but there is a seperate messaging system and calender etc function.
