Idle up and down on cold start up

Hi everyone, I have a E85 2006 3.0 si. On a cold start up the idle goes up and down for the first 5 sec, then smooths out to normal. The car runs fine and if I shut it off and restart it, it does not do it...only after the car has sat over night and the engine is cold. Any thoughts??
 
Mine does it too. I think it is down to the vanos solenoids. I haven't persued it, must get round to it sometime. If you find an easy fix let me know :)
 
Tried the throttle reset but no difference. Was thinking the vanos solenoids too. Not much room to get your hands down there with a wrench to remove them.
 
My 2.0 does the same. Different machine, I know.
Increasing the minimum valve lift in INPA seems to help smooth things out.
I'm putting it down to uneven wear on the intermediate levers.
