I think it's a lot worse here then over there. People here really have zero lane discipline and on top of that the road planners here have decided we are all driving Fiat 500 and consequently many of the lanes are quite narrow.

Must be a new pastime in that area. My mother was sideswiped on Monday by some idiot in her local town. Caused a fair amount of damage to her car apparently and the fella wouldn’t even get out of his car or speak to her.
Fortunately she had the presence of mind to photograph him and the damage etc, to report it to the Guardia.
Glad you had a lucky escape.

Were you aware the road narrowed at that point & there was a pedestrian crossing at the same pinch point?

Hi mate, I clicked the youtube tags in the editor, and then put the video ID inbetween, the portion of the URL that starts with "V=" which has an ID straight after, then straight copy and paste inbetween the tags.

They do seem to drive here with total ignorance for other road users. This was at low speed but I have had similar instances on the motorway going at 100 or 120 Km/h now that really was a bit scary! Quite often you will see them indicate and just pull out regardless of what's coming, they certainly haven't heard of mirror signal manoeuvre! By the way I think the law here states that you have to call the Guardia or Local police regardless of how minor the accident although to be honest I didn't do that a few years when someone very lightly rear ended me.

Actually the road doesn't narrow at all. I use that road on a daily basis, well I did before the lock down. Both lanes are equal width, it might appear to be a pinch point but it isn't, if you look at 12 or 13 seconds into the video you can see the width of both lanes is the same and what appears to be a pinch point is actually just a kerb separation between the dual carriage and the slip road off to the right. Either way no excuse for the white van to cross the dotted white line.

Sunday afternoon drivers are out today, i wonder if they ever ask themselves what the double white lines are for on a bend.
And of course the dashcam stretches the view so closer than it looks.
Beyond the white car the road dips, so it started to overtake the cyclist without knowing what was ahead.
