Ideas to protect car in garage

Hi all

I have a double garage where the z is stored, on the other side of the garage is a pool table where my three delightful teenager children sometimes entertain friends.

I’m concerned there may be an accidental car/pool cue collision, other than banning them from the garage is anybody aware of a cover/protector that could help protect the paintwork

Cheers

Just ban them, it’s easier

It’s a disaster waiting to happen
Think teenager and think Ferris Bueller and his dads car and garage.
Whatever you do at some point they willl decide to:
Throw cue balls around
Hot wire the car
Lie on the bonnet for a frame winning long shot
Light a fart to see if the paint resists it
..And things even my damaged mind can’t imagine

The only protection that will work is to sit in the car reading the newspaper, or porn on the tv..

Sounds a bit extreme but if they are hanging around for a while and you have a big garden you could get them a large shed. Everyone’s a winner :D

Thanks you make some interesting points

The TV in the car only has free view how do you get other channels on it?

Can you not just move the car for when they are playing. If they are anything like mine, they will only play pool for a week and then never use the thing again.

Other than that, I would get an exterior cover but this won't protect against a flying ball but maybe a nudge from a cue. I don't think my kids would even consider doing anything near our cars or I would lose my mind.

Sadly a cover won’t have any benefit to protect from a cuing ding
It’s not your kids it’s friends. Mine were well brought up and did nothing on home turf but guests did damage and the stories of small groups and parties at others houses were horrendous. I couldn’t even write some of it in here...

Hang something from the roof between the car and the pool table that will catch the balls and drop them to the floor.
A blanket or something would probably do

Thanks Nictrix that’s actually a good idea, I was thinking of building a small partition, but hanging something from the ceiling will be easier to do and remove when not required

Make sure it’s non-flammable :o

I used to have something similar in my garage to keep the bike behind and was basically an old duvet cover attached to a curtain pole that could be opened and closed like curtains.

nothing you can do will guarantee that nothing will happen other than building a wall and making the garage in to two singles !

Love my "kids" and grandchildren but if I was in your position I would not have a pool table next to my P &J - it's an accident waiting to happen :(

We have a fairly large garden and when my kids were teenagers I cleared out the garden chalet and put a 6'x4' pool table in it :D then had to put a another garden shed further down the garden to house all the stuff I originally had in the chalet
