ICE Audio Component v Coaxial upgrade

Hi all,

I have recently replaced my window regulator cables and upon taking my door cards off I discovered I have no door speakers.
Hence I need to buy some.
I have read many of the threads on the forum and most suggest placing coaxial speakers in the doors, however will this not cause some issues as I already have the tweeters and therefore I am concerned that the effect will be a bright sounding system due to a tweeter overload?
I am also considering doing a full upgrade in the future so would coaxials be a short sighted option?
I am considering spending in the region of £70 on the pair of speakers.
Or alternatively I could just buy a set of used BMW speakers for ease of fitting.

Any help / opinions would be much appreciated.

Mine’s an E89 but I’ve got co-axial in the door card and tweeters on the A pillar..seems to work fine

I wouldn't put coaxials if you already have tweeters. If you are doing a full upgrade get a nice set of component speakers. In cars it is always better to have tweeter and woofer separate as far as I know

Do components, the factory tweeters are quite bright and harsh, Audison seems to be my go to at the moment, just fitted the prima 5.9 amp and 8” sealed sub into my Caddy, need to replace the door speakers as they are still OEM, but it thumps!
