I wonder what the story is with this Z4MC...

Not sure that BMW warranty is still valid if the car has been Cat written off, sure there are exclusions ?????

Then there's this one last seen advertised at the end of August 2009 with 7000 miles, and currently on PH:

and

That's a shocker, would any bother showing any interest to someone who has the grammer skills of a primary school child.

Regarding the car I was looking at, it turns out that there was no runnng in service. With that in mind I've decided to give it a miss and they are refunding my deposit.

I'll now try and sell my 350z and get myself into an m coupe pronto. I've waited 5 years for one so a few more weeks won't hurt (that much)!

Wise choice, mate

I sense a collective sigh of relief. Hopefully you'll be an M man before too long :driving:

Good luck.

CSL bodykit ? lol.

That must put a few grand on my car.. i thought they were aero skirts.. 8)

Is it bad that as a bit of an enthusiast.. I feel really sorry for that car?

When I viewed it, it looked a lot less sorry for itself, and the aeroskirts looked great.

The guy selling it now is not the same person who was selling it previously. Despite the strong smell of a rat, and for all of his vagaries regarding the nature of the accident and precisely what he'd replaced / repaired and where, the chap selling it last year clearly loved his car!

Yeah good news. What did the dealer say about lying about the 1200 mile service, or are they pretending they didn't know?

Get it checked, the AA do a pretty decent mechanical check and if you explain why, they will look into that... and its a good haggle point.... and for gawds sake, make sure you check all the VIN's and buy it from the registered keeper on the V5..

Work hat on :driving: Wouldn;t want to see anyone on here part with thw wrong side of £20k and lose the car and cash... I have to deal with people who end up with clones every day and in EVERY case, they paid cash, bought it SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper ( 60% of book normally), but also met in a "convenient" location, so couldn;t verify that the address on teh V5 was legit... there are still 100,000 "missing" blank V5's....

... sorry got carried away, i'm just cynical when it comes to cheap / dodgy cars, or quick changes of ownership... i'll shut up now

The advert on that last link alone would put me right off!

I agree - aero skirts look wicked & should have been standard on the /M.. I like them so much I bought them too, just never heard them called a "CSL Bodykit" before

Should we post the Reg on here as well as the VIN so it comes up in Google?

This could still be a perfect car for someone, but I'd hate it to go to someone who didn't realise, as almost happened. I'd buy it for £15k :driving:

I don't remember the reg, but I can probably find out fairly easily from the HPI check I carried out last year.

I bought a IL blue Z4MC in the end, higher mileage, but genuine. Out of interest, how much were the aeroskirts (fitted and sprayed), and where did you get them?

Noooo let's not confuse the two cars in this thread.. someones going to have a hard time working out the two :)

MV07EWA in blue missed it's Running in Service and is the one that may deceive people.. Wonder if the "dealers" have looked this up yet?

The black one is a Cat D.. Sorry Entwistlea if that's what you were referring to
Cat D is registered on the V5 though so shouldn't be hidden.

The black one is H3 YDC, and most certainly has been registered Cat D, it's just the mature of the accident and the quality of repair that is in question.

Was talking more generally... i get carried away sometimes.

Be carefull tho, cat D isn't registered on the V5, only Cat A, B and C... thats why a lot of Cat D's end up being sold and catching people out. If people don't do an HPI check ( shameless plug :D ) they won't know until they sell, have a prang or their insurance company tell em !!!

Yeah good news. What did the dealer say about lying about the 1200 mile service, or are they pretending they didn't know?

He skirted around the subject.

A little update - 5 weeks on and they still haven't paid my deposit back. That is a deposit that they have promised me on three seperate occassions was being paid back. I have tried calling the dealer principle to complain but after two messages this week, no joy there either. Grange Lotus - what a sham!

If they don't call me back after the message I left a minute ago then a conversation with the Office of Fair Trading is on the cards.

A further little update just in case anyone on this forum is considering buying a car from Grange Lotus Preston - DON'T!

4 months after requesting my deposit back (due to their false car description) it still hasn't been paid. I have called various members of their sales team, accounts dept and management and I keep getting re-assured that it's been taken care of, yet each month my credit card statement arrives and they've forgotton once again. I did instruct my credit card company to pull the money back off them and their accounts had the cheek to send them a letter saying that I wasn't owed the £500.

Grange Lotus Preston are lying, incompetent theives as far as I'm concerned.

On a lighter note, I've finally found the Z4MC that I've been waiting for and as soon as my 350Z is gone, I'll be on this forum more regularly and with far more positive posts.

Yes they sound like a bunch of twunts to me. As I said above just threaten the w@nkers with court using Money Claim. It'll cost you £35 for a claim up to £500, and you'll get it back. You can do it all online and it takes about twenty mins. You can charge interest too $$$$$$$$ :)
