I went and did it

I have put the Zed up for sale. It's advertized locally here in Germany in the American papers. As a German can't buy it. At least I don't think they can. It's on a Washington state title (v5) and is US spec. I'm sure a young military guy or gal would love to have it. So we will see.
If it doesn't sell. I won't be broken hearted. But I have lusted after a super 7 for years. They are not very plentiful in America and are rather pricy as well. So I thought. No time like the present. I need to get a 7 while I'm still able to get into a 7.

A 7 will add a new layer of thrills

Stick around, you've been a great and well mannered sparring partner :)

I'd rather be sending from an iPhone on Tapatalk than this piece of crap Android device...

Much appreciated. First I need to have a call about the Zed. Lots have looked at the local advert. But no responses. It's only been two days though. The 7 is a long time fav that has come within my reach. I really need to grab that brass ring. If the Zed doesn't sell. I have nothing to be gutted over.

bigdog, follow your dreams, if you don't then you'll regret it forever. Shame you're selling, but as Stuart says don't go buggering off once the deed is done

I can't follow ALL my dreams. :titshake: The wife might kill me :chairfight: Oh! wait. That would be under fantasies. Never mind. Please disregard.

People are so funny.
1, They seem to assume that because you are selling a car. You are therefore desperate to do so. One fella offered $5375 USD below the American car guide price (NADA) Which surprisingly has the Zeds as far more dearer in the US than in Britain. At least when compared to ebay.co.uk. My 3.0Si with 44,500 miles is listed as $21,375 USD retail/ 13,700 quid.

2, They mention in concert with their uber cheeky offer that winter is coming. I just email and tell them that the hood does close and all the latest BMW's have a wonderful new thing called heaters. Then tell them that the Zed also comes with winter tyres on a set of OEM 200 style wheels.

Looks like I have a buyer for my Zed. A US Army dentist made an offer of $17,500/ 10,800 quid. Which seems spot on in comparison to the adverts at PH.

Now the search for a "7" gets serious.

As said before, stick around, and introduce the dentist to the forum

The very first thing I told him was to join this great forum. I'll certainly stick around. Even if I just lurk now and again. Lots of great folk here. Too much good & civil debate on non Zed issues to bother packing it in just because I might not own a Zed. All forums should look to this one to see what a proper & civil forum looks like.

Ah bigdog, so often on my side of the debate on here! Here's hoping you do stick around

I hope you enjoy your 7. I must admit to recently scanning adverts looking at R400 and R500's a little more seriously than ever I have in the past. I've also been drooling over the 620r too. I think you'll enjoy it! :D

Not to worry OG. I'll not abandon you to the uber liberals. :poke: But as a libertarian minded sort. I may from time to time take their view on some issues.

Those R models are at the spendy end of the "7" spectrum. A little beyond what my wife or I would want to spend. Esp as we will be buying a new steed (Ford Escape or Kuga as it's called over here) to replace the wife's 2008 328 before returning to the blossoming socialist utopia that is the USA these days.

These are the two 7's that I have been looking at.

I love the first one in its Lotus colours.

Yes the R's are quick but to be honest they all go like a rocket due to that power to weight ratio. In the current range I think the slowest one does the 0-60 in under 5s.

Ooooo - tough choice, as that red is lovely...however, I agree with OG - the Lotus coloured one looks way better, and strangely I think it will turn more heads back in The Land of The Free.

Great price on your Si  ...weird how Zs in the US seem to be so much more expensive than Europe. Maybe there is more of a 'prestige' value associated with them.

2100 quid difference. Not sure why that is.

I like the looks of BRG Caterham. Yet. When I went and looked at the red DAX. I was amazed at how spotless/ flawless it is. One could serve dinner from the engine bay. Everything on that DAX is very high end stuff. But he does want a lot of money for it (15600 quid)
