Hi all,

During the bank holiday weekend i left my Zed parked in the usual spot in the cul-de-sac outside my flat. I hadnt driven it since Friday due to spending most of it in the pub or at various bbq's. I jumped in the car and drove to work yesterday, and as i was walking to the office I noticed that some absolte spineless A Hole has driven into my car and scarpered without leaving any details!!1 :x Needless to say, i was furious!!!

It must have been one of my neighbours or a visitor, so i printed 20 flyers with a pic of the damage asking if anyone saw anything, and stuck it on all the notice boards to the blocks of flats (there are 5 blocks that surround where the car was parked).

Here is a pic of the damage, it looks like a white car but im not sure if it actually is, or if its the primer of my car:

Any ideas of repir costs? I dont have the cash to get it sorted at the moment so looks like im going to be driving around in a dented Zed for a while :(

:x

:headbang:

looks very similar to what I did to the front of mine, paintshop quoted £500+VAT :o

feel for you mate.

4 days after I got mine some dickhead put a massive dent in the front wing right on the "Z" line so I feel your anger. Was quoted about £800 for a new wing but got away instead with PDR for about £100. I should check on yours whether the paint is from the other car or loss of your own. If you can polish it up then you may also get away with a spot of PDR to bring it back almost good as new.

The longer smears do make it look like it's from a white/silver car. Wouldn't be suprised if it was a white van man :fuelfire:

That's horrible!!!!!! :x

Primers on our Zs are color matched to the paint so if I had to guess, I'd say someone in a white vehicle. Now, if white is as common over there as here, good luck. :(

Gutted for you mate, its really horrible to see things like this. Almost that exact amount of damage was done to one of my old cars and it cost around £400 at a VW/Audi body shop. Id echo what others say though and as a 'Smart' repairer.

How crap is that. The culprit knew they'd done that, you couldn't have missed it even if you were a crap parker/driver. My daughter's car has been hit done 3 times like this now and every time she's had to fork out for it as she is only 21 and doesn't want to wreck her insurance record. It stinks, it truly does. :headbang:

Gutted for you, some people just have no conscience or consideration for others these days. :x

A long shot i know but you could explain to your insurance the situation, they 'might' be sympathetic and waive your claim if you go through them.

Exact same thing happened to me...twice in 1 year!! Both times on the rear bumper. Both times I reported it to insurance telling them it was a hit and run. I wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause my rates to go up, and it didnt. All I had to do was pay the deductable ($250) and insurance paid the rest. I still shouldnt have had to pay the deductable though. I live in townhouses and am in a lose-lose situation. If I park it in front of my house, the kids will damage it with balls, toys, etc. If I move it to a visitor spot (parallel parking spots) to get away from the kids, visitors will hit it (which is what happened the last time). My wife took the dog to go to the bathroom and she came back and told me someone had hit it and didnt leave a note. I thought she was kidding. I go outside and see burnout marks right behind my car and my damaged rear bumper. So frustrating!
