I wanted some unobtrusive mud spats, so....

I had a similar problem but a slightly different solution and used wheel arch trims off a Jag XKR. Spent ages looking at various cars that had similar trims, but the Jag ones looked most like OEM (to me at least). Made of rubber, so easily followed the line of the arch and held on securely with 3M tape.

OH! Just saw this! They look great! Can you share the link please, or the price?

Jaguar part numbers C2P5095 and C2P5094?

Yep - they're the ones. Got them from Britcar. Still looks like they are in stock - £21 per side;

If you want to use the spring clips as per the Jaguar method of fitting, you need to order these too - C2P5091. As supplied, the spats have a couple of tabs that you fold over to protect the metal of the arch from rubbing and then push the spring clip over. In the end, I just trimmed these off and used 3M tape along the full length of the mounting surface - more than good enough to hold them securely.

Love the idea but the link won’t work for me?

Just doing a search on eBay doesn’t bring up the correct results

Edit
Now found it :D

How effective are these jaguar spats though? Is the rear bumper noticeably cleaner?

I would have said so - they aren't full on mud flaps, but they do go higher around the arch than traditonal mud flaps so they do provide reasonable protection. As far as I know, they are fitted to comply with some obscure EU rule about the proportion of tyre that can 'protrude' from the wheel arch - such as where the rear bumper tapers in towards the bottom, exposing the tyre tread.

I was more bothered about the aesthetics as the wheels have quite an aggrssive offset - they just tucked into the arches at the top and whilst they never rubbed, I wanted them to look more OEM. The added dirt and spray protection was a bonus :thumbsup:

Not so much an obscure rule; all cars must comply. It's the mudgard rule and your mudgards must cover 30 degrees to the front and 50 degrees to the rear of the tyre.
