I Want To Hear An Esienmann Exhausts

I'm thinking of getting the quad exhaust setup made by Eisenmann. The problem is that you just can't tell from clips on Utube how loud the race version is. What I would love is to hear/view the race version in person. Does anyone have the exhaust fitted to their car in the Surrey/London area?

I know £1200 quid is alot for an exhaust but it's just one of those things that u need to hear before you buy. Mstyle also produce a quad exhaust setup aswell which is half the price. Has anyone had that fitted or have any sound clips of it?

Yeh 4 exhausts on a 2.2 - why not hay :P Has anyone had any experience of the M-Style quad exhaust?

???

4 exhausts, no reason why not to on a 2.2 - still 6-cyl so will sound pretty sweet.

PawnSacrifice's sounded lovely in the flesh when he headed north for the Skye roadtrip. Perhaps worth PM'ing him as I'm not sure who else has shelled out the ££££££ for an Eisenmann :o

The 2lt Audi TT-S has 4 exhausts, one for each cylinder. :D And i've also seen a 1.4lt TSI Golf GT with a quad setup. What do you say to that?

If he wants a quad exhaust then why not? To each their own. I do wonder though why no one's tried dual exhausts on our cars, one pipe on each side, i think it would look cool.

Exactmax, good choice

Have the quad setup on my 2.5, as Peddy and A11y (thanks for the kind words  ) mentioned. Love it - as do others! I would stick with the Sport system, which I have. In my research I contacted the Eisenmann factory and even they told me not to take the race system - said it was for track use really, and certainly not for long distances. There is some drone a little either side 2K RPM, but only if you're in too high a gear with the throttle open. So that's the downside.

Now, the good bits. The sound under acceleration is fantastic IMO, really brings out the best of the I6. Favourite is 3K+ RPM building slowly in 3rd or 4th on half throttle. Lovely :D Of course a boot full sounds great too. Then there is the overrun, which has cost me a lot of fuel... driving in too high a gear then letting off the throttle.

Of course any performance claims are cobblers, but from your post sounds like you want it for the right reasons - noise and look! Each exhaust is hand built to order and the quality shows, really well made and the tips look great! It really does add to the experience without being chavvy.

Taken shortly after the install - to share my excitement.

This one was taken as a test for the sound recorder, but gets it on the move and is a slide show with photos.

Neither clip gives a proper impression of the sound, never do. If you're ever out Reading way let me know and I'll take you for an audition. There is some more information in my signature link.

Thanks for the info PawnSacrifice - really helpful. Can I just ask how much was it for the exhaust and where did you get it installed? I've been looking at MStyle for about £1200 which appears to be the cheapest around at the moment. There is a 5-6week lead time on the exhaust though.

I'm still interested in what the MStyle Quad exhaust sounds like aswell - anyone got some sound clips? I have been toying with the idea of just getting a Remus or something similar but I really do like the Quad Pipe look. Its so difficult to make a decision when all you can go on is just watching clips on YouTube.... :?

PM sent on a couple of points.

Main thing to check out with the fitting is what they do for the bumper. Mine was done badly and fixed it myself, not to a pro standard. Am going to get it sprayed soon - should be about £160.

5-6 week lead time sounds about right - these are hand made to order. They were quoting around 4 weeks when I ordered, but it turned into 6. Biggest problem in that time is worrying you've thrown away your money, but it really does make a more visceral experience

Quad setup does look great, but everyone I spoke to said it changes the sound very little, and it does sounds great.
