I want to come back!

Hi folks.
A few of the long termers may remember me from a few years ago. I had a Phoenix yellow 3.0 manual coupe with full black and yellow individual interior. I bought the car when I lived in Essex, then moved up north, bought a house and the car had to go. Well, I have regretted selling that car almost everyday since selling it, and nothing has come even close to replacing it, so I might be back in the market for another coupe.
I suspect it will be from a BMW showroom, probably in the north, but I will travel for the right car. I am thinking less than 50,000 miles, not too many owners, hopefully well specced and most likely a 3.0 manual again. Not sure if I want the extra costs of an 'M' car, but will happily listen to convincing tales that they're not too expensive......

So, I'm making a few calls tomorrow but suspect it might happen in Sept after the Olympics......?

Ta ta, Mark

It's only the petrol and insurance and road tax and servicing and tyres and brake pads that are more expensive! Feck it all - its gotta be worth it!! Do it - your smile will be worth it.

Welcome back.

I think running an M car is fairly cheap..

Only the tax being the fly in the ointment...

MPG,tyres and stuff is negligable..Insurance is sub £400 too.

If you get a car thats had a recent inspection 2 and has had its consumables replaced then you could have a few years cheap running, depending on annual mileage i guess..

Once you go M you never go back... Its going to be an expensive future for me haha! GET ONE!!! They will only tax them off the road soon so sooner rather than later!!

a very early (early 2006) one however will be £260 ish IIRC as it just sneaks under the cut off date...

Mines an 06 plate :-( and I missed the cut off..bad times. Hell, I just use more petrol and make sure I get out as many emissions as possible to make up for it :-) irresponsible I know but whatever :fuelfire: :-)

I think the Ms missed the cut off even the press cars. Mine was £475 this year. At the end of the day its double but thats only £200! Like a £4 a week more....

is Pope lying then?

Pope's for sale...

Andy has also previously said his was early cheap tax also...

maybe just the roadsters??

:?

I dont know I just thought I had read a thread that said they missed it. I could be wrong tho! Didnt think any were registered before 23rd March 2006. If they were it must only be a handful and very rare to find. All will be press cars.

23rd March 2006 is the magic date, cars registered before that day are limited to band K for 201 g/km or over.

Andi.
