I want louder.

After going to a car show today with some of the ph guys I want a louder exhaust..

there was a guy with a 127db tvr, I don't want that loud, but better than stock.

I've got a 03 3.0

what are my options and their costs??
 
Do a search, lots of thread. Remus gives you more noise, but not overly so. There's another one that some have fitted that gives quite a bit more noise. You should go hear them though, before you choose.
 
Miltek, Remus, Eissenmann, ESS, or go custom. I think thats all the options :) Search and you will find sound clips/pictures/costs etc.

X2. Video clips will only get you into the ballpark. With all the recording variables you really can't compare "apples to apples". Listen for yourself.

I've got the same year and ppl have told me my stock sounds custom loud, especially in 2nd gear.. :)

i was, were you? mine was the only z4 there.. :(

Yep I was there and heard that hideous TVR.Saw your Z which I'm pleased to say is is the best colour for a Z4 :lol:

Wasn't sure what a 'HOON' was so looked up the definition which is:-

Somebody who engages in the following activities whilst in control of a motor vehicle

1) High speed driving (often > 40 K's over)

2) The delibrate loss of traction of 1 or more wheels

3) The delibrate loss of control of a vehicle, better known as "drifting"

4) Participating in illegal (drag) racing

5) The performance of other acts such as burnouts, donuts, fishtails

Think I might be a little to old for Hooning :wink:

As for your original question I took my Z3 when I owned it toPROSPEED CARDIFF and had a cat back stainless steel system fitted which gave a much louder and throatier sound and I only had the mid sport system.
I believe z4phill has had one fitted there on his Z4.

Mate, type in Remus, and there is a post from me, with some video clips. Job done, it sounds awesome and smile on face all the time.

Elite Direct in Essex supplied it and got a good deal, there are a few posts from me about it and the deal they offer etc.
 
Take one or both of the foam pieces out of the "sound generator" and then it will be louder on the inside of the car, at least. See here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=15035
It was fun for a couple of weeks when I tried it. I eventually ended up going back to the stock configuration. But you might like to keep it that way. It is an easy and fun thing to try anyway. Cost is zero.
 
Do the exhaust, remus, sounds wonderful and you can hear it outside the car, where it counts :)
