I think I might have a slow puncture...

Hey guys,

So this is my issue...Tyre pressure sensor keeps getting triggered every 5 weeks or so, and when I check my front left tyre I'm showing a bar pressure of about 1.3 (should be 2/2.2)

Sounds like a slow puncture to me, is it worth getting a new tyre because of this or shall I just stick with it?

Thanks,
Luke

If you can't locate an obvious source of the slow puncture e.g. a nail or cut on the tyre or a crack in the alloy it might just be a faulty valve - you should be able to replace the valve stem core without removing the wheel from the car as long as you jack the wheel off the ground to avoid it being under load when it loses pressure (as deformation of the tyre will break the tyre/wheel seal)

Ah OK, well that could be good news then as I'm just having my wheels refurbed and they install new valves during the process!

Thanks for the advice
