Hi all

Pre dec 2004 cars that have all wiring and looms in place for retrofit:

Do they have the pdc loom and module plumbed in does anyone know?

Cheers

Stuart

Not sure tbh, but if I had to guess I'd say the loom is there from front to back, but you'd probably need the modules and the pdc wiring loom from the boot to the bumper.

I’ll check for a module- they are boot compartment rear right?

I’ve got a sterling bumper with pdc fitted which I may pop on the 3.0 instead of taking to the tip

Any chance you managed to figure this out? :D

Got a 2003 Z4 and a seller selling the bumper+module+sensor loom for dirt cheap. so need to assess mo option and pull the trigger before someone else does

Modules aren’t

How was the process? Plug, code and play? I've coded a bit on NCS expert. Is it just enabling the PDC on the CAS module for it to recognise the installed PDC module?

So i did some digging around. Turns out i will need to add $508 to my Vehicle Order VO/FA to enable PDC after retrofitting. already know how to do that so thats good.

I also dug around the trunk trim where the light is and found this connected. is this it? the PDC connector on the main harness? Pre LCI 2003 Z4 so i expect all the connectors to be in the harness. can someone confirm this plug with me? :)

An update on this, in case someone with a pre 2004 Z4 is considering this retrofit.

Indeed the picture above is the connector for the PDC controller. looks a bit small for a module connector so i was skeptical however upon testing, it seems to produce ~12V and was directly linked to F8 on the fuse box, which is the fuse for PDC. See electrical schematics below:

Pin 1 and Pin 6 on that loose connector are +VE and GND, respectively.

Managed to grab the PDC + wiring loom for sensor + 4 colour matched sensors + colour matched rear bumper for ~280$ (250 euros) which i personally think is a steal! (this rear bumper was in a better condition than what came with my zed)

$508 was added to my VO/FA on NCS expert and coded onto my AKMB and ALSZ (where the vehicle order is stored), using expertmode/factory coding/however the profile is called (should basically have manupilation set to 0). the main NCS profile for restoring your coding on modules. The PDC module was immediately recognized. had to restore the coding for my specific car as this module came from an E46.

All is good. Sensors seem to work fine based on some testing on INPA. Now its a matter of just removing my old bumper and installing this PDC specced bumper.

Got a load of them in the parts bin

Just need to find a gong and get that sorted. Is the wiring for this already on the mainharness? took a look under the driver footwell but couldnt locate the two connectors. I'll have a proper look again in a couple of days.
