I need to change the brakes!

Hi HABANERO, welcome to the forum 
Many of us that have moved away from OEM have gone EBC, that and Pagid. I went for EBC greenstuff pads as they are meant to have far less brake dust on the rims. It depends whether you are going to be tracking. If you go too fancy on the rotors I believe they become noisier - I went for Ultimax. I have to confess, I just copied CJ's setup seems very good for road use. Haven't got them on yet though
The setups designed for the road may fade a little when pushed very hard for a long time, but importantly their operating temperatures mean they don't need any real effort to become effective.
One tip, when searching check the rules / suggestions on the left or try the Google search on the home page. If you have any more specific questions by all means post back. As Peddy pointed out, this is a well debated subject... if a little inconclusive

You wont get any hits on here with EBC though, doesn't do 3 letter searches... try "green stuff' "brakes stuff" "Ultimax". And you do need to search, am really not very good with brakes.
One thing with the brakes, EBC in particular, if you see posts by mmm-five they're going to be pretty reliable IMO, if not gospel.

On our side of the pond, Habanero, try StopTech. They sell through several outlets. There's also a Brembo big brake kit. I'm saving up for that one. 8)
Also try BavAuto online. I haven't checked out whether NOPI carries anything for our cars. I used to use NOPI when I had a Probe GT and they were great.

if you will use the car just for road then go buy oe replacements such as zimmerman for disks and textar for pads and the like. change your fluid to any dot 4. it will cost you less than half of OEM stealership prices. same quality as OEM but half the price, use the change elsewhere. stealership brake pads for the e85 front is around $100 where as textar is just $50
if you will track once of twice a year, or drive really hard that includes a lot of braking and accelerating on mountain roads (never get ebc greenstuff, see my thread about ebc greenstuff) i would suggest just the oem disks or zimmermans, and higher rated pad than greenstuff plus dot 5.1 fluid.
ebc 3gd rotors are noisy paired with any pad, and either the greenstuff left hot spots on the disk or they warped just as easily as oems as well.

I vote for OEM stuff and a fresh brake fluid change, tried EBC in the past and thought they lacked any feel or bite from cold, wouldn't buy again. I like to drive farly quickly over some tight roads and have never had brake overheat or fade problems that some people i have been with had experienced, the OEM produce a lot of dust but personally i would prefer to have that and correctly functioning brakes.
