I need help with sensors.

Ok, after the car went into limp mode yesterday and coughed and spluttered it went into the garage today, they plugged the diagnostics in and yet again it came up with O2 sensor (bank 1, sensor 2) component aged, only problem now is the garage have it up on the ramps and don't know which sensor the fault refers to, does anyone have a picture that can help?

Will a faulty sensor make the car misfire and go into limp mode?

That may help if your car has an N52 3.0 engine.... I imagine Sensor 2 will be the one on the right hand side of the exhaust (Part 5).
Yes it can cause it to miss, one of mine is failing at present and it misses on startup (no CEL), give it a bit of juice and its fine though.

They could just unplug one and see if the fault continues, if it flags both of them you know its not the one just removed :)


What age/engine is the vehicle?
 
Well the garage have sussed which sensor it is, now they say they have tried three suppliers to no avail and even I tried the local dealership and even they havent got any! is it going to be "one of them cars", I hope not.......
 
Sensor replace this morning with genuine part, drove all of three miles, back in limp mode..wished I had kept my Mg!
