So I decided to check the fuse(s) for my heated rear window.

Im now 2 hrs and as nose bleed into the job.
Couldnt get the bloody fuse box to drop. when it did checlked the fuses both OK - oh well the problem lies elsewhere.
At this point it took me about 15-20 mins.
The last 90mims + have been spent trying to get the bloody fuse box to relocate. The screw type thing just will not seat.

I had to walk away whilst my nose bled with the stress and contortionism involved. And probably before to poured petrol over the damn thing and lit a mach.
Who on earth designed this abomination ?? This could seriously put me off this car. What would happen if stranded in the dark miles from anywhere and you try to check fuses etc ? absolute joke.

Fuse box still not fully fixed in postion and thats beofre I even start to relocate the lower panel again.

It was designed by the Marquis D"Sade when he was feeling particularly spiteful.

I might have been lucky, but I stuck some knee pads on then with an open passenger door wiggled it until the back felt ok(ish) before trying to engage the locking doodah - took about 5 minutes of swearing but it seemed OK.

I tried the feet in the air with the roof open first and wound up with a headache from being upside down too long

Simplest way is to hold the fuse box still and rotate the car around it :roll:

Could you not check for power at the heated window connector? If you have voltage there then the fuse must be ok

What have they done in the new Z4? be interested to know that hopefully the original team were sacked... (easily the worst designed part of any car I have ever worked on, and there were some pretty strong competitors!)

No update yet. I havent had the time, weather, multi-meter or location to investigate yet - my gut feeling is the contact to the widow will be busted knowing my luck.
