New to posting but not to reading. Have owned my car for six years, bought it for Scotland driving around the mountains but shes quite at home down in Kent now. Had trouble free motoring for 5 1/2 years, once I changed them run flats.. now the last 6 months have been hell. 2 oil leaks, rocker box cover and oil filter housing, exhaust flange gasket, wiper motor, front headlamp washer, passenger door lock wont open, door window cable on way out, over heating, changed water pump and thermostat. At times I could of just thrown in the towel, but for some reason I cant bring myself to see her go. The amount of hours I spend polishing and buffing and washing is ridiculous.

jobs to do, polish lights they are hazy, have some inside tyre wear fronts. couple of dents, always seem to happen after going to tescos! small amount of rust on front and rear arches. 2 keys wont charge. window cable, front light washer.

Welcome along !!

They’re just getting to that age unfortunately aren’t they, where the perishable stuff is going to have seen their best days until replacement ! All the stuff you listed fits that category, and I feel your pain. I share s love - hate relationship with mine

Hi and welcome
Can’t bring myself to see her go .... that’s a fair discription of how these beautiful cars grow on us , truly wish I’d been able to keep the merlot e85 as well as the e89 I swapped it for. Hope you get your problems sorted soon , looks like she’s worth the effort from those pictures, lovely cars to polish n wax ain’t they

But you've got the Z4 addiction - stick with it as they're worth it!

So far as your keys are concerned you could try putting them next to an inductive charger like a Braun toothbrush one, although others are available!
