I Love My Car.

I think I've got some Supagard stuff that came in the freebies with the car, I'll have to have a look. Iv'e got to get something, that's what takes most of the time getting them off.
 
I was the same picking it off with my nails, until I discovered this stuff. Tar spots are bad on silver too :cry:

Carol, if you use any solvent to get the tar spots off just make sure you wash the area down and rewax that area as the solvent will likely strip everything off right back to the lacquer.

Not that I'm going to start a tit for tat, but you may want to contact the makers of Iron X... they seem to think it doesn't work, and shouldn't work on tar...

Maybe you have a super special bottle eh.... :oops: :roll:

Thanks for the nice comments guys and the arguments.....I mean tips......on the best tar remover :)

I won't be using anything that can strip wax etc off as I've got that Supagard on the car and I don't want to potentially fetch patches of that off. I shall have to do a bit of tar remover research!

Anyways tar very much. (See what I did there?) :D

iron X, or Wolf's decon gel that I use (same type of stuff) is really one of the best things... I love showing people the "bleed" pictures... :evil:

Especially good on front wheels... :thumbsup:

What did we do back in the day without all the fancy chemical stages eh...

Hi Carol- I would be surprised if you find one - Tar Removers are Solvents and I would have thought most treatments waxes/ sealants will stand up to them - you will need to reapply a sealant - you could top up supaguard afterwards.
 
I don't know if this is a big no no!! Probably is because no one has mentioned it! And i am very new to car cleaning. But i use clay bar on tar spots?? My wife has a white 4X4 it all comes straight of with the clay? Still have to wash and wax after?
 
Looks great Carol, gave mine a polish on Saturday as well. Seeing that crystal clear reflection off your bonnet makes it all worth it! Well until the rain comes down 10 minutes later....
 
mmm maybe this bank holiday is the right time for my annual top up then... Snowfoam, Wash, Claybar and a spot of HellShine's Abyss...
